Karl-Anthony Towns's Parents
A lifetime of support
Karl-Anthony Towns is one of the most promising young players in the NBA. The Minnesota Timberwolves center is a three-time All-Star and was named the NBA Rookie of the Year in 2016. Towns' success on the court is due in part to the support of his parents, Jacqueline Cruz-Towns and Karl-Anthony Towns Sr.
Jacqueline Cruz-Towns was born in the Dominican Republic and moved to the United States when she was a child. She met Karl-Anthony Towns Sr. in high school, and they married in 2002. The couple has three children, including Karl-Anthony Towns Jr.
Karl-Anthony Towns Sr. was a basketball player at Monmouth University. He was drafted by the New Jersey Nets in 1985, but he never played in the NBA. After his playing career ended, Towns Sr. worked as a coach and a scout.
Jacqueline Cruz-Towns and Karl-Anthony Towns Sr. have been a major influence on their son's life. They have taught him the importance of hard work, dedication, and perseverance. They have also been there for him through good times and bad, and they have always been his biggest supporters.
